STOURPORT manager Rod Brown applauded his defence after Swifts continued their 100 per cent start to the season with a 1-0 win at Racing Club Warwick in the Dr Martens League Western Division.
In a dour game of few chances, the Walshes Meadow side took the points thanks to an early own goal and their excellent defending.
Brown said: "We have not conceded a goal in 180 minutes of league football and that is really pleasing.
"I thought the defence played exceptionally well - as they did against Shepshed - and we could have wrapped the game up in the opening 15 minutes."
Swifts kept faith with the same first 11 that beat Shepshed 2-0 in the opening day clash.
Tuesday night's only goal came after just five minutes.
Warwick keeper Craig Dutton pulled off a brilliant point-blank save to deny Lee Booth and then another to keep out Lea Shaw's rebound.
But as he then attempted to clear the ball the luckless keeper managed to punch the ball into his own net.
Adrian Cooper should have made it 2-0 just moments later when Dutton spilled a Ross Knight cross but the Swifts forward turned his shot wide under pressure from the frantic Warwick keeper.
Solid defending, particularly from former Wolverhampton Wanderers youngster Quentin Townsend, kept Warwick chances to a minimum.
The best fell to veteran striker Kim Green on the half-hour but, after turning his marker, Stourport keeper Rob Clarke turned his shot around the foot of the post.
