A CANDLE-lit vigil was held outside Worcester Cathedral on Saturday to remember the billions of suffering animals world-wide.
Worcester Animal Rights Coalition held the vigil in the grounds of the Cathedral to remember the animals who have suffered and are still suffering in places such as vivisection laboratories and the slaughterhouses.
They also handed out leaflets to people attending the Evensong service at the Cathedral.
The aim was to encourage the congregation to spare a thought for animals who suffer, in all areas of life such as factory farms, circuses and zoos to the dancing bears of India and Pakistan.
"Members displayed posters depicting these abuses and handed out leaflets in the hope that along with their prayers for a more human world, the congregation will spare a thought for the voiceless in society whose cries all too often go unheard and unheeded," said a spokeswoman for Worcester ARC.
