DROITWICH Spa police are urging parents to keep their children under watchful eye, following a recent hike in vandalism in the area.
Spa beat manager PC Alun Jones has warned parents that they have a responsibility.
"I urge parents to closely monitor the activity of their children when away from the family home," he said.
"If you are aware that your child is in possession of spray paint, permanent marker pens or eggs when they go out, then it is likely they are responsible for much of the vandalism reported.
"As a parent you have a responsibility."
Many Spa people have been the victims of vandals in recent weeks including a Victoria Avenue resident who featured in the Droitwich Spa Advertiser when she had eggs thrown at her windows and a town shopkeeper, who last week, had festive decorations damaged when thieves stole lights from a display.
PC Alun Jones warned: "Such acts of graffiti and vandalism is criminal damage and offenders will be sought, arrested and prosecuted.
"This unsightly damage is a blight on the town.
"I also urge the public to report any incident."
Anyone with information about vandalism in Droitwich should call Spa police on (01905) 723888.
