SPA middle schools have fared well in this year's Government league tables which outline how well pupils perform in core subjects.
The national tables, published today, reveal what Droitwich pupils, aged 11, have achieved in English, maths and science at Key Stage Two.
St Joseph's RC Primary School, in Ombersley Way, took first place out of the town's schools with top results in all three subject which were well over the national average.
In English, 90 per cent of youngsters achieved a level four grade or above, against the national average of 75 per cent.
In both maths and science, 97 per cent of children achieved the expected level, with only 71 per cent nationally achieving it in maths and 87 per cent achieving it in science.
Headteacher Kate Hill was delighted with the results: "The excellent results reflect the hard work of the children and staff at St Joseph's.
"This is a happy school where we all work together so that each child reaches their potential."
Witton Middle School, in Old Coach Road, also beat the national averages in all three subjects.
In English, 83 per cent of pupils achieved level four or above, in maths 74 per cent and in science they achieved 86 per cent.
Headteacher David Coll said: "We are proud of our overall year- -on-year improvements which reflect the hard work of schools within the Droitwich pyramid, but we must not lose sight of the many aspects of school life and experiences which cannot be measured in these terms but are of equal importance."
Westacre Middle School came in below average in all three subjects and did not improve on last year's results.
In English, 56 per cent of pupils achieved the expected level, 46 per cent achieved it in maths and 75 per cent achieved it in science.
No-one from Westacre was available for comment as the Advertiser went to press.
