DEAR EDITOR - I have really got to hand the biscuit to Rubery Conservatives for the 'brass-necks' with which they continue to portray their individual and collective roles in identifying their involvement with the work in Brook Road recreation ground.
The work is to alleviation and possibly total prevent the flooding to the residents whose houses straddle the brook on Callowbrook Lane in Rubery.
Let us be absolutely clear, this work is being totally funded by Worcestershire County Council.
This follows the unforgettable response of Bromsgrove District Council in serving legal notice to the residents to clear and clean up the brook around their houses.
The fact that they had been flooded on numerous occasions, coupled with the huge rise in their house insurance, the huge emotional and financial pressure on these families, cut no ice with the cold response of the Conservative controlled administration.
The council could, of course, be just a little humble and contrite by waiving the council tax to those residents for the next couple of years, just to show that there is still some humanity in that Cabinet, though I doubt it very much.
Prove me wrong! G'wan, G'wan, G'wan!
Cllr Dave McGrath,
Beacon Ward,
Bromsgrove.
