DEAR EDITOR - In recent editions there have been articles which refer to the telecommunication mast on East Lodge Farm, and the plight of the residents who live in close proximity to the mast.
I would like to warn others who may be in a similar situation to beware!
The council whom we voted in power in Bromsgrove, and to whom we pay our council tax, are not empowered to look after the best interests of its residents.
This is due to central Government giving telecommunications companies carte blanche to do what they like when they like with no due consideration to the local community and the environment. So don't be complacent, act now and write to the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions, The Rt Hon Stephen Byers MP, c/o The House Of Commons, London.
It is time for clear and concise legislation for this type of installation in order to protect us in our homes from this visual pollution.
Margaret King,
Hilltop Residents Association,
Bromsgrove.
