DEAR EDITOR - Reading a letter regarding my town, Droitwich Spa, by F Greaves I can only say thank you very much for what you said, and I am in agreement with you all the way.
This town isn't the same, and I say spoilt.
I am a Droitwich person and was born here, and all that has been changed is upsetting.
The wonderful Salters cinema has gone and the dance hall owned by the brine baths has gone. Winnetts Lane school was demolished and could have been turned into a museum. Like you said, hardly any shops in St Andrews Street and Victoria Square, so I can see how upsetting it is.
As for the lido park, that had been open for years and cheap to go in. The lido should be left as an open air pool.
It is exactly the kind of thing we need, not sports centres all the time.
J Lloyd-Williams, Stalls Farm Road,
Droitwich Spa.
