THE speaker at the AGM on November 22 was Adrian Couper of DIAL, Disablement Information Advice Line.
This is a service for all disabled people, in any form, and is a registered charity, therefore they have to rely on funding from various people, including local businesses.
They are totally impartial and completely independent of any other organisation. It is a confidential, free service.
The sort of things they deal with are filling in disability forms, access to holidays, what buildings have good disability services, the law, housing, what grants are available, transport, wheelchairs, travel for the disabled, and discounts for disabled people.
There is a freephone number to ring: 0800 970 7202. This is available Monday to Friday 10am-4pm, or they are to be found at Redditch Library on Wednesday mornings between 10am-1pm.
