BROMSGROVE Rovers manager Steve Daniels has clinched two new signings to help steer the Victoria Ground side towards promotion.

But the newcomers will not be in action as Rovers head to Midland Football Alliance strugglers Stafford Town tonight.

Daniels has drafted in former Stourbridge boss Mark Harrison and the ex-Willenhall Town manager Martin Thomas. The pair parted company with their respected clubs last month.

Harrison had guided Stourbridge to the top of the MFA table but has since been replaced by former Bilston Town boss Joe Jackson. He has already taken the Rovers players for training and, along with Thomas, looks set to be the final piece in the Bromsgrove jigsaw.

Daniels, himself a former Stourbridge manager, said he hoped Harrison's coaching skills would help steer Bromsgrove Rovers into the Dr Martens Western Division.

He said: "I am always looking to get quality in and Mark is an excellent coach.

"I am trying to lay down the foundations to make this a successful club. Sometimes you have to wait for the right people to come along - both on the playing side and coaching side. I think we area creating something solid here."

Rovers travel to lowly Stafford Town tonight hoping to bounce back from Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Bridgnorth Town.

And Daniels will be able to call on defender Grant Beckett and striker Les Palmer after both returned to the Victoria Ground.

"Les and Grant will bolster our squad. We need to freshen things up a little after Saturday but no-one has the divine right to win football matches."
