FIRE hazards associated with Christmas will be the focus of a safety campaign run by Redditch Fire Station over the next few weeks.
Firefighters will be in the town centre at weekends with leaflets and advice.
A particular worry is plug sockets being overloaded, with Christmas lights, TVs and videos.
If a socket is overloaded and exceeds its amp rating, then cables will overheat and flex could melt, sparking a blaze.
Redditch fire crews were called to a serious kitchen fire at a house in Greenlands last month which was caused by an overloaded plug.
