Bristol University 1, Bretforton 1
A FAST and energetic start by Bretforton created the first attack with good passing between Julie Hall and Kate Mitchell.
It was a cross from Hall into the circle that found Sophie Corbett who smacked it towards the keeper's pads and Andrea Cole netted the rebound for a first minute lead.
The visitors kept the pressure on with good movement off the ball from midfield to attack and several opportunities were denied by by the Bristol goalkeeper.
The home team, undeterred by Bret's pressure, took control and had a few opportunities and short corners.
It was a skilful run along the back line, played to the penalty spot which gave a shot on goal which was saved but Bristol were quick to follow up and level the score.
Late in the first half the home side were awarded a short corner but quick reflex reactions by goalkeeper Fiona Baldeli kept the ball away.
The first 20 minutes of the second half saw little action from either side. It was in the latter part of the game when both teams came alive with action at both ends.
Debbie Slatter and Cole worked well and provided a dangerous combination for the home team defence, but solid defending kept the ball clear.
A cracking save off the line in the dying minutes by Bobbie Handley assured the villagers of the away draw.
Cole was named player of the match for her consistent play and strong attacking.
