SCOTT Barrow looks set to agree a loan deal with National Two side Orrell for the rest of the season.
Worcester Rugby Club's young centre has decided to take up the offer for a chance of first team rugby after becoming increasingly frustrated this season.
The 21-year-old took Sixways by storm last year with a number of eye-catching performances but has rarely figured under new coach John Brain.
The deal, which is still to be concluded, will give Worcester the option of recalling Barrow at 48 hours notice while he will also be expected to play in Warriors matches.
"It's a good deal for everyone," said Brain. "Scott's not getting any rugby here and, to be fair, he knows why. We cannot be clearer with him -- we've told him why he's not in the team and what he has to do.
"He knows what he has to address to get into the team. It's like any player here. If you address the problem, you stand a good chance of being selected."
Brain has been pleased with his centre pairing this season of Duncan Roke and Chris Yates who have helped Worcester to the top of National One. And the former Gloucester man is unlikely to make changes in the near future.
"Our first two options at 13 at present are Duncan or Ben Hinshelwood. We also have Alistair Murdoch who is an important player for us. Scott is a talented player and I'm sure this loan deal will help him progress."
Worcester visit Exeter on Saturday for what will be a huge test of character on the back of a disappointing display against Rugby Lions at Sixways. Wor-cester again missed out on the bonus point but with Exeter one of the outstanding sides in the league this season, Brain is well aware that victory in whatever form will be a big ask.
"We know we will have to work hard for everything," Brain added.
Dave Sims and Neil Lyman have been ruled out through illness, while Brain is sweating on the fitness of Richard Smith and Steven Vile who have also both been unwell this week. Sateki Tuipulotu looks likely to play some part after returning from duty with Tonga.
Squad: Davis, Collins, Moreno, Hall, Ross, Zaltzman, Morgan, Soper, Clarke, Evans, Carter, Jones, Jenner, Smith, Moncrief, Pellow, Vile, Yapp, Chalmers, Roke, Yates, Stanley, Garrard, Tuipulotu, Hinshelwood.
