JAN Molby took Ritchie Appleby to Swansea in August 1996 and is now reunited with him in a one-month loan at Aggborough.

The versatile Appleby, who can play on the wing or in midfield, began his career at Newcastle United and represented England at youth level.

He only played several minor cup games in his native north-east and was freed to Ipswich Town where he was given three substitute appearances in Division One.

Appleby moved onto Swansea and proved a success under Molby though injuries have restricted his appearances since then.

He has been transfer listed by new boss Colin Addison and is free to go if he can find a club with November's loan move a good chance to put himself in the shop window.

Appleby crowned his debut by scoring after coming on as a substitute at Leyton Orient and looks to be very comfortable on the ball.
