A prisoner on licence who stole a bottle of wine from Safeway on Saturday was too drunk to run away when she was challenged.
She clashed with the store detective, scratched and kicked him and ripped his shirt, prosecutor Owen Beale told Kidderminster magistrates.
Joanne Baker, 29, of Wilden Top Road, Stourport, admitted theft and assault and was sentenced to three months imprisonment.
The court heard that she was on licence from prison on a security tag and ordered that she return to complete her sentence for an earlier offence.
