Pershore Tn 5, Shirley Tn 2
JON Gregory fired in a hat-trick as Town took emphatic revenge for a 4-1 defeat at Shirley earlier in the season.
Pershore were ahead within 60 seconds of the start when Richard Congrave cleverly controlled Chris Jew's pas before driving the ball into the net.
Disorganised defence handed Shirley an equaliser after nine minutes but a scrappy half ended with Pershore in the ascendancy as Gregory struck twice in the final four minutes.
Congrave provided the pass for the midfielder to make it 2-1 and, in the second minute of stoppage time, Gregory fired in his second.
The visitors pressed forward after the restart and were awarded a penalty after 59 minutes following a Tim Concannon foul. However, a diving Neil Turner saved Lee Martin's kick but the home goalkeeper was helpless a minute later when Matt Devine's strike deflected off a defender and lopped into the top corner.
Pershore were now stung into action and Lee Tustin produced a powerful and shot to restore his side's two-goal cushion.
Ten minutes from time, the elusive Congrave again showed great skill before squaring the ball for Gregory to complete his hat-trick.
Town picked up another point on Tuesday after a goalless draw with Highgate. Turner made the save of the night late on to ensure parity.
