FABULOUS festive fixtures and fittings across Wyre Forest could be rewarded with up to £100 as part of an illuminating new competition.
Bewdley mayor Carol Gittins has arranged for the carnival princesses from the three towns to judge the entries to find the house with the best outside Christmas decorations - with a trophy and voucher for £100 of festive lights on offer to the most radiant residence. Two runners-up prizes of £50 vouchers are also up for grabs. Mrs Gittins is hoping for a host of entries to encourage people to get into the Christmas spirit.
She said: "It is an idea I have had for a couple of months and has been backed by the mayors of Kidderminster and Stourport and the three carnival committees.
"I think it could take off. There are some really well-decorated houses out there."
The closing date for entries is Friday, December 21 and anyone interested in taking part can contact Mrs Gittins on 01299 404113 or call the town clerk's office on 01299 400157. Alternatively they can fill in the entry form and return it to the town clerk's office at 6 Load Street, Bewdley.
