A COUPLE from Hampton in Evesham have donated a beautifully furnished 4ft high doll's house to charity in memory of their ten-year-old great nephew.
Ian and Mo Davenport lost their young relative, Robbie Lewis from Shrewsbury, in August after he suffered with a brain stem virus.
Before his death their friends, Frank and Thelma Ford from Honeybourne, gave them the shell of the house to furnish and raffle to raise money for medical equipment for Robbie but it was not to be.
Mrs Davenport said: "He died before we finished it but now we have decided to donate it to the Tracy Sollis Leukaemia Trust - a very worthwhile charity."
The couple, one doing the carpentry and the other the furnishings, took many months to complete the house, which is now quite valuable and not meant as a toy.
Sue Sollis, the founder of the trust, said: "We are delighted to be raffling the house; it's really beautiful. It will be displayed in our shop front window in the Library Arcade where raffle tickets can be purchased. The draw will probably take place after Christmas."
