BEER fans will be able to sample tipples from across the UK, Europe and the US at a bottled beer festival in Upton.
Jon Lear, owner of the White Lion Hotel on High Street, will be bringing around 30 beers to his bar for people to try on December 28.
"It's to give people something to do in that period between Christmas and the New Year, when everything is closed and people have friends and relatives to stay," he said.
"It will be a beer-tasting evening, like a wine-tasting, with beers from abroad as well as good old English cask-conditioned ales.
"There will be a hotpot served at the end of the night and admission is by ticket only."
The event, which will be repeated on February 1, could become a regular fixture in the Upton festival calendar if it proves popular.
It will start at 8.30pm, with tickets available from the White Lion at £15, which includes the beer and food.
