IT comes as no surprise to read of the scandal of the "missing" sculpture of Jenny Lind (Malvern Gazette & Ledbury Reporter, November 30).
Over a year ago I enquired at Malvern Theatres where I could see the plaque commemorating the Santler brothers, unveiled in July, 1988 at the Winter Gardens.
The plaque was removed during the restoration of the theatre complex and never restored to its former position. I was assured, having provided evidence of its existence, that it had been located and would be put in an appropriate place. The assurance was worthless. Nothing has been done.
I hope that you will pursue with vigour the issue of restoring the Elgar and Jenny Lind bronzes and the Santler plaque, shaming Malvern Theatres into action.
