FURTHER to Sir Michael Spicer's letter (Postbag, November 23), Sir Michael had made no mention of raising the level of the road until after I and others had questioned his scheme of a pontoon at his surgery on Saturday, November 3.
Rather than accusing me of a snipe, he should have been aware the odd barb would be coming his way.
I consider the views expressed in my letter of November 5 fair comment and I find it surprising that an MP of his experience should get into a 'tizzy' over a bit of criticism.
I was delighted to read the Sir Michael is now going to "press on relentlessly to achieve some relief for the town". With this sort of determination we can look forward to a reasonably quick solution to our problems.
CHRIS TAYLOR, Hanley Castle.
