AIR Commodore David Vass has taken over as bursar of Malvern College. His predecessor, Mike Eglington, has become clerk to the college council.
Mr Vass joined the RAF after doing his A'Levels and served for 32 years, during which he flew a variety of aircraft, including the Phantom fighter, Hawk trainer, VC10 and Tristar transport and air refuelling planes.
Recent appointments include commanding 216 Tristar Squadron and RAF Brize Norton, and a tour at Strike Command headquarters as Air Commodore air transport, air-to-air refuelling, command, central communications and intelligence.
Mr Vass is married to Chris and they have two daughters, one a teacher and the other a trainee accountant.
They hope to move to Malvern just before Christmas to complete what they hope will be the last of 22 moves for the family.
