MALVERN mayor Whinray Coates will be presenting cheques to her chosen charities on Tuesday (December 11).
Money raised at the civic service last month, amounting to more than £400, will be given to the Home Start project, Malvern Hills Homeless Young Adults Trust, Malvern Women's Refuge Support Group and Malvern Priory.
Coun Coates will be making the presentation as part of Malvern Town Council's open day, which will take place from noon to 7.30pm at the council's office on Belle Vue Terrace.
Traders and volunteers from the town have been invited to join the mayor and councillors for a mince pie and glass of mulled wine. Members of the public are also invited to drop in.
The newly-appointed town clerk, Shirley Young, will also be present to start getting a feel for the town before she takes up the post next year.
As part of the open day, Coun Coates will be presenting trophies to the winners of the Christmas window competition. She will also be presenting trophies to the council, to be awarded to winners in the annual Malvern in Bloom competition.
