DESPITE the scoreline suggesting that Malvern were heavily beaten, but for two scores at the end of the first half they would have been only 5-0 down with all to play for.
MALVERN U16S 0, LICHFIELD U16S 45pts
Malvern set about their usual game of trying to stem the wave of attacks from taller and heavier opponents and probably had the best 35 minutes of the season.
Unfortunately, despite encourage-ment from a sizeable crowd, Malvern were unable to sustain their efforts in the second half and although man of the match Jon Avery tackled everything in sight Malvern were unable to prevent Lichfield scoring.
Malvern play their next two Sunday games at home, this week playing at the Chase school.
