ORIGINALLY a sceptic, I have to admit to being a convert to the Worcester North park-and-ride service.
I find it excellent, given the traffic limitations along its route, including the abuse of the bus lane by motorists, especially by motorists heading for the two schools in the Tything during the morning rush hour.
The staff at the terminal are a first-class example of courtesy and help, likewise the drivers. Many private bus companies could learn much about public relations from this service.
By the time I have taken my fuel costs into consideration when travelling into the city by car (62p net) the service becomes viable economically if compared with the cost of parking anywhere near the city centre.
Worcester City Council should now press ahead with park-and-ride sites to the west and east of the city.
