BEDECKED in robes and ready to sing his heart out, schoolboy Simon Heasman helped uphold a 31-year church tradition.
Simon, who is head chorister at St John's Church, Claines, was installed as "boy bishop" by his vicar, the Rev Stephen Agnew.
Simon will be busy until Monday, January 28, helping out at carol services, reading lessons, taking part in services and doing blessings.
Mr Agnew said Simon was the perfect choice.
"It is a very special tradition which started last Thursday - St Nicholas Day - and ends on January 28," said Mr Agnew.
