THE future looks bright in Bromsgrove and Rubery as primary school pupils make the grade in core subjects.
The primary school performance tables, published today, show the proportion of children in Bromsgrove and Rubery are achieving level four or above in Maths, English and Science.
By National Curriculum standards pupils should achieve level four or more in key stage two testing at age 11.
Beaconside Primary School turned in a top performance, with more pupils than ever achieving level four or more in all key stage two assessments.
The Rubery school saw 83 per cent of children pass tests in English at level four or above, 8 per cent above the national average.
Head teacher at the Hazel Road school Reg Moore said: "We are very pleased with the results and the hard work of all the staff and pupils."
Holywell Primary School also turned in an exceptional performance, with 92 per cent of pupils making the grade in Science.
Aston Fields Middle School and St John's Middle School saw more pupils than ever achieving level four or more in all core subjects.
Despite exceeding national targets in English, Catshill Middle School failed to improve on last year's overall performance.
Parkside Middle School and Lickey Hills Primary School were also unable to exceed their performance of previous years.
Head teacher at Parkside Middle School in Stourbridge Road, John Graham said: "We were a bit disappointed with this year's performance after a good year last year."
