A FORMER Worcester man and 11 other British plane-spotters were today finding out if they will face espionage charges after prosecutors in Greece called for them to face trial.
Three judges were due to examine evidence against Wayne Groves and his fellow spotters and then decide how the case should proceed.
They had been desperately hoping they would be freed by Christmas.
But the Greek public prosecutor has compiled a report recommending the 12 Britons - and two Dutch citizens - should face trial.
The hearing - due to be held in Kalamata - comes after the group were arrested on Thursday, November 8, following organised visits to Greek air bases.
Mr Groves, aged 38, a former Nunnery Wood High School pupil whose father Don lives in Worcester, said: "We were promised we'd hear something by last week, but nothing has happened."
MEP Richard Howitt said the fact the hearing was convened just a day after the prosecutor's report was compiled could mean either good or bad news.
