service at the Cathedral
FIREFIGHTERS are hotting up for a sizzling performance at this year's brigade carol service.
Members of Hereford and Worcester Fire Brigade's Green Watch got together for a warm-up in preparation for tomorrow's event at Worcester Cathedral.
Station officer at Worcester Fire Station John Das Gupta, who organises the annual service, said members of the public were welcome to come and join in.
"It will be a traditional family service and we hope local people, particularly those who we have helped during the year, will be able to join us," he said.
The Brigade choir, conducted by sub officer Neil Pigott, will lead the carols featuring vocal soloists David Coulson and Stephen Haskool, and trumpet soloist Paul Gillett.
Worcester's Salvation Army Band will accompany the carols while the Mayor of Worcester, Councillor David Clark, chief fire officer David O'Dwyer and other members of the brigade will give readings.
The service, starting at 7.30pm, will be followed by a mince pie and hot punch reception in College Hall.
