APPARENTLY, unsolicited mail is the Post Office's largest and profitable part of their service.
Judging by my mail, I am not surprised, because it consists largely of sales promotions, commercial advertisements and speculative marketing offers.
Needless to say, I hastily throw this material straight into the bin.
As far as I am concerned, this makes the whole exercise a waste of resources, time and money.
However, in view of the recent anthrax incidents in America - where the citizens were advised to be careful and vigilant when opening their mail - our plethora of unwanted junk/unsolicited mail, could prove to be an opportunity waiting for some lunatic over here to copycat the American calamity.
