THERE looms a very dark horizon indeed for future generations of our children if Tory Blair, Blunkett and the rest of their Christian Socialist cronies introduce yet more "church" or "faith" schools into our education system.

Why won't politicians learn the lessons that Bosnia, Kosovo, the Israeli/Palestine conflict and Northern Ireland have so graphically presented before us, with this whole fool's venture so epitomised by the recent thuggery at Holy Cross School, Belfast.

Already sowing the seeds of future sectarianism within our midst are Catholic, Jewish, Muslim and C of E Schools. What next? Schools for Moonies?

And what if the increasing numbers of Secular, Humanist and Agnostic families suddenly demand separate schools for their children too?

In terms of future progress and harmony in our multi-faith, multi-ethnic society, the introduction of more religious schools will be a tragic step backwards, fuelling only the interests of elitism, social division, racism and bigotry.

We must therefore finally grant our children a "basic human right" to mix and be educated with peers from all "faiths" and ethnic backgrounds, within a framework of openness and "shared values".

For to do anything less, is to deny them the truly broad-based education we all desperately want.
