STUDENTS at Worcester Sixth Form College will be whipping up a storm with their production of Return to the Forbidden Planet.
The play is a tongue-in-cheek version of Shakespeare's The Tempest, which is set in space and uses rock 'n' roll music in the score.
The college's performance will have all the ''hairdryers-for-handguns'' kitsch of the stage show and the 1956 film Forbidden Planet, which the show is partly based on.
"It is all rocking and rolling," said Sarah Daniels, head of performance at the college.
"We have the big tentacles and we have our own version of the video screen.
"We held auditions in September when the students arrived and we have been working on it since then.
"I think they have had fun putting the show on."
As well as the actors the show also includes an on-stage band and a team of eight dancers.
Performances will be held tonight, Thursday and Friday and tickets cost £5 for adults and £3 for concessions. For more information contact the college on 01905 362600.
