THERE is a vacancy within the village for a parish clerk. This is a very interesting and enjoyable job and will suit anyone with basic secretarial skills.
The duties include arranging parish council meetings, advertising them and preparing the agenda, taking the minutes, dealing with correspondence and filing, maintaining the parish council accounts, communicating with the two county councillors and other departments within Herefordshire Council, dealing with planning applications.
If anyone is interested in taking on this work please contact either the present parish clerk, Mrs Pat Wilkin on (01531) 633853, she will be delighted to have a chat with you, without any obligation or any of the parish councillors.
There is also a requirement to find someone to take on reporting village events in the Village Voice in the Malvern Gazette and Ledbury Reporter.
This requires someone to write an article each week and either deliver it to the Ledbury Reporter office in Ledbury on Tuesday or fax the report to the Malvern office by Wednesday by 11am to be published the following Friday.
Also is there anyone who would be able to prepare the Village Newsletter twice a year (circulation 250 copies) either to print and collate or just prepare one copy for a printer. Again if any one is interested in any of these jobs please can they contact the parish clerk on (01531) 633853.
There was a very disappointing attendance at the meeting on Wednesday, November 28, which was to see if residents would like to establish a WI branch within the village.
Another meeting is going to be arranged in the spring of next year, please look for details of what the WI is all about and for details of the next meeting and please try and support this event.
