REDDITCH captain Mark Rose said Sunday's North Midlands Shield tie against Division Two outfit Old Griffs will not distract his side from their title aims.

And the Kingfishers' captain is hoping for a good crowd at Bromsgrove Road (ko 2.15pm) after his side's 19-13 weekend win over Tenbury.

Whilst Redditch were pocketing two points, third-placed Edwardians did them a favour by beating second placed Veseyans 22-8.

Although Redditch stayed fourth, two points behind leaders Yardley, they have a game in hand and now have Yardley, the only other side on seven games on the same points.

It is only the Kingsfishers' poor points difference - at +9 the worst in the top six - which is holding them back, but Rose is not worried.

Man of the match Carl Smith, Kenny Hadley and Mark Morris, who added two conversions, were the weekend points scorers.

Redditch are set to be at full strength for Sunday's cup test but Rose will have an eye on the return to league action with a must-win game at fifth placed Bromyard on Saturday, December 22.
