CLUB captain Jon Ford has been put in charge of Bromsgrove Rovers after the surprise departure of Steve Daniels.
The outgoing Director of Football, dubbed the Kingmaker for his ability to spot young talent, has left the Victoria Ground club by mutual consent, according to chairman Tom Herbert.
First team coach Mark Harrison and scout Martin Thomas have also left the club.
"Steve has done a good job for us but I thought it was time for a change after recent results," said Herbert.
"We've got some good players but we just need to gel together which we haven't managed yet.
"We need an experienced manager but this is a big club and we won't have any trouble in filling the vacancy."
Daniels was unavailable for comment but is believed to be disappointed at the decision.
He took over at the Victoria Ground late last season but could not save them from relegation from the Dr Martens League Western Division, although they had started the new Midland Alliance season well.
Rovers face a long trip north to replay their abandoned third round FA Vase match against Tow Law Town at the weekend.
