MARK Chambers has told his weary troops there is no time to feel sorry for themselves after a big-hearted display against Vase favourites Brigg Town ended in defeat at the weekend.
A titanic end-to-end game was finely poised with Brigg 3-2 up three minutes into the second period of extra time when Studley won a penalty.
Town defender Danny Hope stuck out an arm in desperation and Loughborough referee Eddie Mitchell pointed to the spot but stunned the sizeable BKL support by ignoring the FA directive on deliberate handballs and refusing to dismiss, or even book, the defender.
Agonisingly Studley forward Andy Grubb, mobbed by his teammates when he grabbed the equaliser in normal time, fired wide from the spot and the Bees' Vase adventure was over.
It's back to the bread and butter of the Midland Alliance when BKL visit fourth placed Wednesfield on Saturday (ko 3pm).
Winger Andy Devlin is unlikely to figure after a knee injury ruled him out on Saturday and former Alvechurch forward Dean Meyrick has signed for Midland Combination Premier neighbours Feckenham after falling down the pecking order behind Craig Pountney, Kevin Rowlands, Jamie Bailey and Andy Grubb.
Chambers is looking to draft in a new signing or two after learning midfielder Gavin Barratt will be sidelined for at least six weeks with a knee injury.
