Chelmsley Town Ladies 2 Redditch Utd Women 3
REDDITCH regained their form in a test for both teams as Chelmsley tried to make up the points lost to Redditch earlier in the season and United attempted to stay in touch with leaders Headless Cross.
The visitors had the upper hand and their efforts were rewarded with a rocket over the keeper's head from Rachel Hopkins.
Chelmsley balanced the score with a contentious penalty.
The Reds midfielders continued to pressurise the Chelmsley defence and eventually, after several efforts, Mandy Ellicott broke free and outplayed the defence and goalkeeper to score a second.
But Chelmsley's forwards were determined to address the balance and equalised again.
Redditch defenders Kate Saint, Sam Tayler, Nannette Kite and Vicky Bell worked hard to allay further attempts on goal when Redditch scored their third through Ellicott and helped secure the match.
Player of the match: Mandy Ellicott.
The Women return to action at home to Marconi on Sunday (ko 2pm).
