Headless Cross 3 Villa Aztecs 0
Headless Cross Ladies took advantage of leaders Fairfield's inactivity by beating Villa Aztecs 3-0 to go top by a point with a game in hand.
Aztecs defended deep in the first half frustrating Cross with efforts from Alison Johnson,Kirstie Robbins,Elaine Frampton and Beth Jarrett saved before Robins found space in the middle to thread an inch-perfect pass to Frampton to score with a well-placed shot.
The second half saw Cross up the pace and it was no surprise when Natalie Smith crossed from the right for Johnson to score with an unstoppable shot which gave the keeper no chance.
Cross finished off the scoring after a well-worked corner between Jarrett and Johnson saw Jarrett score with a fierce shot into the top corner.
Keeper Eve Adams pulled off a full length save in the dying minutes to deny Aztecs a consolation goal with her only save of the game.
