Three star
Aerosmith fans often fall into two camps - those who like their prodigious seventies output and those who prefer their cleaned-up eighties and nineties act.
Bearing in mind the latter-produced I Don't Want to Miss a Thing, it's not hard to see why some die-hard fans prefer their early stuff.
Luckily that miserable effort isn't on this lengthy compilation of the band's years with the Geffen record label which produced four studio albums, including the brilliant Pump and Permanent Vacation, a live album and a greatest hits affair.
This anthology only really serves to bring together a collection of lesser-known B-sides and other odds and ends including Aerosmith's duet with Run DMC on Walk This Way.
Otherwise it's all the big hits - Dude (Looks Like a Lady), Love in an Elevator, Rag Doll, Livin' on the Edge - plus some album tracks like the superb Monkey on My Back,, which will let you decide whether it is worth investing in or not.
Fans will probably have most of these tracks but it's not a bad introduction for those not acquainted with the band.
