Two star

WE monitored their progress on Popstars with a detached curiosity like they were a strange breed of animal on show at the zoo and now, if not soon, everyone will have a favourite one.

The nation wanted these 'normal' youngsters to do well and it seemed they were off to a flying start with debut single Pure and Simple.

But it's a case of too much too soon for the all-singing, all-dancing fivesome.

There's no disputing they can sing but their second album has no real substance and appears rushed, like it's been thrown together in the ad break between their Saturday night TV show.

Danny (Shrek lookalike) and Kym (mum-of-two) have the strongest and most distinctive voices, particularly on You're All I Need To Get By, the best track by far (shame it's a cover though).

A Good Thing is quite good in a 70s disco kind of way, as are the 80s-inspired Suddenly and We Go On.

But the rest is all a bit wishy washy - run of the mill pop and the obligatory overload of ballads.
