Four star

WITH a line-up that includes George Harrison (believed to be his last studio recording), Van Morrison, Paul Weller and Eric Clapton, you just know this is going to be a quality CD.

But when you add the likes of Jamiroquai, Stereophonics and Sting, what you end up with is an album that is not good. It is outstanding.

Jools and his orchestra rock 'n' roll their way through a sublime mix of original and classic tracks, from The Beatles' Revolution to I'm in the Mood for Love.

It is a celebration of every musical style, from country to blues and jazz with a big dollop of big band sound.

The guest artists have been well chosen - as have the songs they sing. Sam Brown's chocolately voice is particularly nice on Valentine Moon.

Marc Almond shines on Say Hello,Wave Goodbye and Eric Clapton has a ball singing What Would I Do Without You?

This album is about kicking back, relaxing and having fun with your mates - while listening to some damn good tunes.

In the usual dross released over the festive period, this should shine out like the star at the top of the Christmas tree.
