I WRITE following Ian Morris' Letter relating to my earlier fears that the county councils or shire counties in England are under threat.
Mr Morris is absolutely right, and you cannot put a cigarette paper between what he and I are staying.
However, alas, there's where the similarities end. I am an "all-rounder". I have interests in education, social services, planning, cultural services and health. I am not a single-issue councillor elected only on one issue.
Indeed, if Mr Morris feels as passionately as I know he does about this country, which I also greatly love, then I suggest he and his supporters come and join a national political party that will stand up for the rights and freedoms of others.
Our MEPS believe in being in Europe, but not being run by Europe.
We're achieving a sea-change in Brussels now the European Socialists have been swept from power.
I would publicly like to extend to Mr Morris an offer to come and join the Conservatives and fight from within a national political force.
STEPHEN CLEE,
Worcestershire County Councillor, Bewdley.
