I ENJOY Liz Freeth's guide to the music scene (The Pulse, Friday November 30) and, while I have respect for Rod Stewart's splendid version of Handbags and Gladrags, it was originally performed by Chris Farlowe.
Indeed, the song was specially written for him by Michael d'Abo, a fact that was highlighted during his excellent performance as support to Van Morrison in Malvern a week last Saturday.
