MEADOW View Residential Home will soon close its doors to staff and residents so a new home can be built in its place, writes Helen Clarke.
The home, owned by Warwickshire Care Services, has been taken over by Leicester-based firm Prime Life Ltd.
But despite fears from Alcester town councillors, all the staff have been offered alternative employment within the care services.
At a recent town council meeting, councillors said they were worried about the fate of employees.
John Bull, head of Warwickshire County Council Adult Services, said: "All staff at Meadow View have been offered alternative job opportunities either with Warwickshire Care Services, the county council or Prime Life Ltd.
"We're finalising details for the new development with Prime Life Ltd and are aiming to have a new state-of-the-art facility for the people of Alcester in place by late autumn next year."
As Warwickshire Care Services will no longer operate Meadow View, the staff are entitled to redundancy packages and, as a legal requirement, had to be served with redundancy notices.
He said planning permission had previously been given to Warwickshire Care Services for a home on the site but Prime Life would be applying for permission for a revised scheme.
