PLANS for a development in Bidford have been turned down.
After opposition from residents and councillors, Stratford Council has now blocked an application for development at Marriage Hill.
Dorsington property developers Color Estates had been seeking planning permission to redevelop the market garden facilities.
The development involved 25 units with 280 parking spaces covering 8,500 sq metres.
It would have included offices with living accommodation above, in line with the government's policy to reduce the number of people commuting to work in non-sustainable means of transport.
The parish council had expressed numerous concerns, including surface water management, hazardous material on the site, increased levels of traffic and the height of the buildings.
And the district council received more than 36 letters of complaint from villagers, including the Bidford Residents' Group.
