Hazel Bradley chaired the last meeting. She introduced three speakers. Dave Cockle gave a speech entitled 'Must have' where he listed all the useless modern gadgets that men always have to buy. This was followed by a speech by Ron Sutton entitled 'Charming the birds' where he recounted that a beard and moustache always attracts the ladies.
Roger Jauncey passed an advanced assignment where he had to give a short unprepared speech from a choice of three subjects.
Susan Young was the Topics Chairman for the evening. She challenged members to tell a fairy story in the voice of a well-known character. The audience was amused to hear Winston Churchill telling the story of Cinderella.
Members of the club gave evaluations of all the speeches. Redditch Speakers Club is a friendly club that welcomes new members. For further information contact Alan Young 459516.
