THE parents of a Redditch teenager who died almost six years ago are distraught after being told their daughter's organs were taken out without permission and cannot be traced.
Nicole Waldron, 13, died from a brain haemorrhage on March 5, 1996, at Birmingham Children's Hospital.
Mum Julia and dad David were called to the hospital on Friday to be told organs had been taken out for samples but it could not be confirmed if they had been put back because there were no records.
The Waldrons had been told Nicole's heart had been retained but on Friday they discovered other organs had also been removed, including her brain.
At the time of the tragedy, tissue samples were allowed to be taken from organs which had played a part in Nicole's death.
The family want to highlight the trauma they have been through to other people who may have lost loved ones and be unaware what has happened to their organs.
The Waldrons plan to have a second funeral in March, exactly six years to the day since Nicole died and was buried at Redditch Crematorium.
