MORE than 100,000 extra shoppers visited the Kingfisher Shopper during November compared to the same time last year.

The news comes during a £60 million centre revamp which will include the creation of a major transport interchange and a Debenhams department store.

And despite the closure of the centre's only supermarket, Tesco, last Christmas, visitor numbers are soaring.

Last year 740,000 visited the centre in November. This year there were 850,000 and last Saturday 60,000 walked along Evesham Walk during opening times.

Sunday trading has also seen an upturn in visitors, with 18,000 people visiting the centre last Sunday compared to 15,000 the same time last year.
