THE sudden death of a Redditch girl who contracted meningitis has prompted a man recovering from a broken leg to skydive for charity this Friday.
Willem Harris will be performing the 10,000ft tandem jump in aid of the Meningitis Trust after six-year-old Danielle Senior, of Church Hill, died from the disease during a family holiday in June.
Mr Harris' wife Lisa is a voluntary classroom assistant at Moons Moat First School, where Danielle was a pupil.
A jump was originally scheduled to take place in September but Mr Harris, who is an assistant accountant, broke his leg playing rugby and it had to be postponed.
The couple hope to raise more than £1,000 and have been grateful for support given from Redditch firms, the school and Mr Harris' work.
Anyone wanting to support Mr Harris and help raise money for the Meningitis Trust can contact the couple on 62332.
