Rugeley II 1, Pershore II 4.
FOR the first time this season, all of Pershore's club sides avoided defeat with excellent wins for both the men's second and the ladies first teams.
Pershore were surprised by the level of skill shown by the Rugeley team considering their lowly DTZ League position and quickly went a goal behind after a scramble which left Anderson, making his debut in goal and valiantly carrying on after a bad injury sustained in the warm-up, just failing to get to a rebound.
Pershore were then indebted to Mike Handley for rescuing several tricky situations and to the fit again Wright in centre midfield who is beginning to find his form again.
Pershore began to come much more into the game with the younger Handley, Rob, using his pace down the right wing and Rushton taking the circuitous route on the left.
Eventually, Rushin fired in an unstoppable short corner shot, that found a space in a goal vacated by the Rugeley goalkeeper.
Further pressure resulted in several chances going to waste and the half ended all-square.
Pershore totally dominated the second half to such an extent that they were able to allow Ridsdale to take a ten-minute rest at the invitation of Bozward, who umpired the game well.
Five good chances were spurned before a fine deflection from Matt Hughes gave Pershore the lead. Two cleverly worked short corners, finished in style by Wright and Curley, secured the points to maintain the side's winning run.
They now face one more league game before the Christmas break and the whole club will be hoping to maintain the recent improvement in both performances and results.
