of a couple's house on the A44 Bromyard Road in Broadwas
A MOTORIST had a lucky escape after his car ploughed through a wall and landed on its roof on a Worcestershire road.
The driver, who has not been identified, smashed through the stone wall in a Ford Fiesta demolishing 18ft of it before landing upside down in front of a private garage.
Emergency services were called to the incident which happened on the A44 on the Worcester Road just before Broadwas at 5.15pm yesterday.
Police closed one carriageway of the road as three fire crews and an ambulance crew attended the scene, but the driver had already escaped from the vehicle suffering a scratch to one hand.
Joseph Burns, who owns the garage and wall, said the road was a "very dangerous stretch."
He said he had been standing outside the garage minutes before the crash, and was taking his coat off as the driver smashed into the wall.
"Cars overtaking have actually brushed me as I have been walking on the road to my garage. It's ridiculous."
"This is a very dangerous stretch," he said.
